To be more Postive

So maybe posting so many negative things in secession was a bad idea given the amount of people who have called to check in on me. I didn’t realize that I radiated such positive attitude that people would be worried when it turned a little dark. : ) having said that I’ve decided to post a few of the positive things in my life right now so everyone can stop worrying

I’ve gotten to see 4 different countries in the last year. Each one of them entirely different from the last. I am blown away by those who are content to live in their existents without ever stepping out of the boundaries of our boarders. There is so much life out there. There are so many different cultures to explore and immerse your self in. Breathe it in…

After two very long years of daily medication and living in fear of a possible blood clot, I’ve finally been given a clean bill of health and no longer have to go in for weekly blood draws. This was amazing news for me yet my priorities have shifted so much in the last two year that I’m not sure what my future holds anymore. Thats not such a bad thing.

My family is healthy. No major scares this year and that makes me happy. I know I take them forgranted and I hope that they know I love each and everyone of them

I have a dog and a man. Both of them loving, loyal, and very handsome. They make me happy

New Music

I know a guy and he’s weird. Not the normal weird where he talks to himself or picks his noise or anything like that. He’s smart weird. He’s always listening to different kinds of music and over the last couple of months has introduced me to some new artist. My new fav’s are Ray Lamontagne, The Gourds, and Cold War Kids.

Lyrics to
Let it be Me
by Ray Lamontagne

There may come a time, a time in everyones life
where nothin seems to go your way
where nothing seems to turn out right
there may come a time, you just cant seem to find your way
for every door you walk on to, seems like they get slammed in your face
thats when you need someone, someone that you can call.
and when all your faith is gone
feels like you cant go on
let it be me
let it be me
if its a friend that you need
let it be me
let it be me
feels like your always commin on home
pockets full of nothin and you got no cash
no matter where you turn you aint got no place to stand
reach out for something and they slap your hand
now i remember all to well
just how it feels to be all alone
you feel like youd give anything
for just a little place you can call your own
thats when you need someone, someone that you can call
and when all your faith is gone
feels like you cant go on
let it be me
let it be me
if its a friend you need
let it be me
let it be me

So tired

-I’m sick. I hate being sick. I hate that I got suckered in to picking up the cutest 14 month old baby anyone has ever known knowing that he was sick and that I was probably going to catch it.

-My eye is twitching. Not just one twitch but a constant twitch. It’s been going on now for 9 days. I called the doctor and she said it was just stress. Now I’m sitting here stressing out about being stressed out. Please go away twitch.

-Christmas sucks…. Maybe if I had children I could get into the holiday spirit. Right now I find it to be a money grubbing holiday with thankless nieces and nephews.

-I’m a shitty blogger, shitty friend, shitty employee. Everyone should just fire me and get it over with

-I’ll be 30 soon. Lord help me to survive my mental breakdown. I know its coming and its going to be bad

-I promise to not to complain tomorrow. In fact I might even write something positive

I spent the better part of 3 months looking up things to do and see while we were in Costa Rica. The area is full of wildlife, volcano's, waterfalls, hiking trails, and water activities. We had big plans to hike around and get a real feel for Costa Rica. That all pretty much went out the window once we got there. It was so HOT that all we really wanted to do was lay around by the pool, so that's what we did. The hotel itself could have used some up dating but the views from our room were absolutely stunning. We arrived one week before their busy season, so we pretty much had the run of the place to ourselves.

Brian and I stayed at the Allegro Papagayo and for the most part we enjoyed every minute of it. I think before anyone books accommodations they really need to ask themselves what there looking for in a vacation. Brian and I are the type of people who don’t mind staying at a Best Western appose to a Marriott so for us this was a fine hotel.

The one thing I must say about this place is that it has the most stunning views! Never have I stayed at a resort where every room has an ocean view at no extra charge. I think you’d be hard pressed to find a better view in all of Costa Rica. The pool area is large and we were able to find seating everyday. The staff isn’t as friendly as some of the resorts we’ve stayed at in Mexico but they warmed up after we had been there awhile.

We weren’t overly impressed with our room and the toilet could have been a lot cleaner. Although I never saw any bed bugs I have the bites to prove it.

This hotel is also located in the middle of nowhere. I used Google Earth prior to us arriving so we were well aware that we would need a car rental. There is nothing but cows near by. The terrain is very hilly and could make life difficult for the old, very young, or over weight. We didn't mind the hills so much because it made us feel less guilty about stuffing our faces every night. The food at the buffet was pretty mediocre but quite good in the private restaurants. They even cooked one of the fish we caught that day for dinner in the Italian restaurant that night. Yummy!

The biggest problem with this hotel and maybe all of the hotels in Costa Rica is the influx of the locals on the weekend. On Friday night five tour buses showed up with upwards of 400 to 500 locals looking for a relaxing weekend. It got kind of annoying but once Sunday rolled around they all went back home.

We also met some great Canadians and an Australian at the end of our trip and wish they would have arrived around the same time as us. We had a blast hanging out with them.

Costa Rica

Watching the sunrise from our room
Hotel Lobby

I'm not sure where to even start when trying to describe Costa Rica. The country is beyond beautiful with stunning views, tropical rainforest's, and a rich friendly culture. We stayed in Papagayo which is located in the upper northern pacific side of Costa Rica. We had heard that this was the touristy part of Costa Rica to stay in but we didn't really mind that. Its nice when your not fluent in Spanish to be able to stay somewhere where a good portion of the population understands some English. We stayed at my parents timeshare thru Occidental Resorts. The hotel its self I would rate as a 3 to 3.5 star but the view was a 10+.

I'll try to post more in the next week or so
